Sisyphus / first movement explores the theme of Sisyphus through the unusual, evocative interpretation that philosopher and writer Albert Camus gave of the myth in his essay The Myth of Sisyphus. Sisyphus is condemned to roll a rock to the top of a mountain, only to have the rock roll back down to the bottom every time he reaches the top. The opera investigates the paralysis of the will throught the paradox, the absurd, and the utopia, enlightening how it is possible nowadays to rediscover the meaning of happiness by staying in the trouble and fighting for life. The performance focuses on the concept of the obstacle and how to deal with it.
