Void is a project that explores the relationship between human emotions and digital technology, focusing on filters used on social media platforms like TikTok.

The work investigates how tools designed to express emotions instead simplify, banalize, and erase them, creating a breakdown in emotional communication.

Five monitors display selfies filtered through AI, which removes all traces of emotion based on a dataset of basic expressions. This produces distorted, uniform faces where happiness, anger, sadness, surprise, and fear become hard to tell apart. The voices are distorted to emphasize the inability to communicate.

The project reflects on the role of filters and selfies in contemporary photography, revealing how these tools, instead of amplifying emotional expression, lead to its complete disappearance.
